1. Check the care instructions: Before washing your throw pillows, check the care instructions provided by the manufacturer. Some pillows may not be suitable for machine washing, especially if they are made from delicate or sensitive materials.

2. Remove the cover: If your throw pillows have removable covers, unzip or unbutton them and take them off. This will make washing them easier and prevent any potential damage to the covers.

3. Spot clean: Before fully washing the pillows, it’s a good idea to spot clean any stains or spills. Use a mild fabric cleaner or laundry detergent and a clean cloth or sponge to gently dab and clean the affected areas. Be sure to follow the instructions on the cleaning product to avoid damaging the fabric.

4. Machine wash: For machine-washable pillows, place them into the washing machine. It’s best to balance your load with other items to prevent the pillows from being thrown around too much. Use a delicate or gentle cycle with cold or warm water. Additionally, use a small amount of mild laundry detergent to avoid excessive sudsing.

5. Rinse thoroughly: After the washing cycle is complete, rinse the throw pillows thoroughly to remove any remaining detergent. It’s important to remove all the detergent as it can leave a residue and make the pillows feel stiff and uncomfortable.

6. Dry carefully: Depending on the care instructions, there are different methods for drying throw pillows. Check if they can be tumble dried on a low heat setting or if they should be air-dried. If you choose to use a dryer, add some dryer balls or clean tennis balls to help fluff the pillows as they dry. If air drying, place the pillows on a clean and flat surface, and flip them occasionally to ensure even drying.

7. Fluff and reshape: Once your throw pillows are fully dry, fluff them up by giving them a few good shakes and punches. This will help to redistribute the filling and restore their original shape. Pay attention to any clumps or unevenness in the filling and gently manipulate it until the pillow feels even and plump.

8. Replace the cover: Once the pillows are clean and properly fluffed, put the covers back on. Ensure that the covers are entirely dry, as any moisture trapped inside could lead to mold or mildew.

Note: Some throw pillows may not be suitable for machine washing at all. In such cases, it’s advisable to spot clean them or take them to a professional cleaner. Always refer to the care
